The 18th Annual Research Conference

The Chinese Accounting Professors’ Association of North America (CAPANA) invites both members and non-members to submit papers to the 18th CAPANA Annual Research Conference. The objective of the conference is to bring together accounting scholars in North America, Asia, and other parts of the world to discuss a small number of high-quality working papers to promote research collaboration and advancement. The conference is sponsored by and will be held at the Chinese University of Hong Kong- Shenzhen campus, located in Longgang Distrct Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, China. (www.cuhk.edu.cn)

PAPER SUBMISSIONS: Papers in all areas of accounting using all methodologies are welcome. Please submit your paper at https://editorialexpress.com/conference/capana2026. The submission deadline is April 1st, 2026. Multiple submissions by the same author are allowed, however, each author is limited to one presentation. All submission fees are covered by CAPANA.
In consideration of the international nature of the conference, the working language of the conference is English. Only papers written in English will be considered. While both China-related and non-China-related papers are encouraged, two slots will be reserved for China-related studies to promote research in this area. Papers by current CAPANA officers will not be considered. Authors will be notified of acceptance by May 1st, 2026.
KEYNOTE SPEAKERS: Regina Wittenberg Moerman, Northwestern University
BEST PAPER and BEST DISCUSSANT AWARDS: There will be a best paper award of US $1,000 and a best discussant award of US $1,000 voted by conference participants towards the end of conference.
REGISTRATION: The conference is open to all those who are interested in attending. The conference registration will open in April 2026. We will send out registration reminder in April, 2026.
REGISTRATION FEE
All participants (inlcuding presenters and discussants must register)
CAPANA Members: 350 USD (or 2,400 RMB)
Non-CAPANA Members: 420 USD (or 2,900 RMB)
Doctoral Students: 150 USD (or 1,000 RMB)
The registration fee covers full access to all conference sessions and the following:
- Day 1: Two refreshment breaks, lunch, and the Gala dinner
- Day 2: One refreshment break and lunch
- A gift set from CUHK Shenzhen
DOCTORIAL CONSORTIUM: Prior to the conference, CUHK Shenzhen will host a Doctoral Consortium, which is by invitation only, on June 30th, 2026 for doctoral students to learn from renowned scholars and CUHK Shenzhen faculty members.
