About CAPANA

Started in 1976, The Chinese Accounting Professors’ Association of North America (CAPANA) is a non-for-profit academic organization that serves the research and teaching interests of Chinese accounting professors and doctoral students in North America, Asia, Europe, etc. One of CAPANA’s key missions is to promote high-quality academic research on China, the Asia Pacific region, and other emerging market economies. We welcome non-Chinese accounting researchers with similar interests to join CAPANA as members and participate in our research activities.

The major initiatives that CAPANA has undertaken in recent years are as follows:

  1.  Host an annual accounting research conference in Asia;
  2.  Organize an annual CAPANA-sponsored research session during the American Accounting Association annual meeting;
  3.  Coordinate a one-to-one mentoring session for junior CAPANA members during the American Accounting Association annual meeting
  4.  Sponsor a member networking reception during the American Accounting Association annual meeting
